...April Movies
Let's all go to the movies, let's all go to the movies...or maybe not. I am underwhelmed yet again by any films that compell me to make that trip out.
April 7th:
Take The Lead: Thank you very much “Dancing With The Stars”!
Guys & Balls: Brokeback Soccer indeed! This German import was actually made before the BM phenomenon and expect a bit more fun and a lot less crying.
April 14th:
Scary Movie 4: Okay, so #3 vastly improved the series, but that is not saying much. However, Chingy apparently makes an appearance, so who knows.
April 21st:
American Dreamz: The trailer indicates this could be a smart, funny send up of both American Idol and President Bush. However, it also indicates this could be a dud if the writing isn’t sharp enough.
Silent Hill: Hold up a minute. This is a horror film that is not a remake of some Japanese or classic horror film? Am I crazy? Somebody please enlighten me if you have news to the contrary. Oh, and the trailer looks spooky too.
April 28th:
United 93: Maybe you feel different, but I am not ready for a 9/11 film yet. Going by the trailer, the movie looks respectful of the incident and not too sensational. However, I am not really sure what artistic merit it can offer so soon after the tragic events.
Sympathy For Lady Vengeance: The final part of the Vengeance Trilogy is upon us. I have only seen “Oldboy”, but if you are into bloody Japanese movies this one should be for you.
3 Comments:
FYI--Silent Hill is based on a video game. There have been 4 Silent Hill games. And I watched while my husband played the game because it was like an interactive movie.
oh and the game is Japanese.
Oh, how sad. I could have excused if it were based on a graphic novel or somesuch. A videogame adaptation is simply dire.
